Contest Entry

This is my late entry for *Mirandarin's character design contest. I took attributes from these animals: Hyena, Thylacine, Harpy Eagle, Rabbit and Flying Squirrel.
So, she's not of this world, and I sort of created a small personality for her and information of her species, so I hope Mirandarin doesn't mind.
Her species is a feathered and furred species. Their feathers will show their emotion and will spread out when they are angry or scared, to warn others away (the tail may also fluff up). The feathers serve no real purpose, otherwise, except to retain warmth, and the small skin flaps are actually evolving into loose skin that helps their running speed. Their paws are much like a rabbit's, with no pads, and sharp, sturdy claws to dig into the dirt, prey, or an enemy. Their facial structures are somewhat prominent under the skin and fur; the nose is big and the jaws can open as wide as a thylacine's can, revealing a purple tongue and many sharp teeth. Their eyes have a third eyelid, so they hardly ever blink, and they can only see some colors, like rabbits.
Personality: This girl is a very bright and sweet character. She tries to be friends with everyone (though she is normally cautious) but when that is not possible, she considers them strangers not to be trusted. She is reasonable and very upbeat and optimistic. She often tells jokes to brighten the mood, if it is needed, and will use them to keep others going, when traveling or beaten (for example, saying "What did one blade of grass say to the other?" "What?" "I'll tell you when we get to that tree over there."). She will almost always sleep on her belly to be ready to jump to her paws if something wakes her. Rarely, when she feels the safest, she will sleep curled up in a ball with her tail over her face and her forepaws under her neck (see picture).

I'm kind of torn right now, though. I want Mirandarin to use this char, but at the same time, i love her too much and I want to keep her. But I'll let her decide on that one, whether she wants to use it or not.

Oh and this is a color MAP: [link] emphasis on the "MAP" part, because i didn't figure out the correct colors to use for digital art. don't use any of the colors i put there except the colors for the eyes, unless it looks exactly like it does on the traditional picture. Otherwise, please try to use colors that look like the traditional coloring.
